Local Walks

Blackdown Common

A lovely circular walk through heath and woodland near Haslemere with incredible views across the Sussex Weald and the South Downs. This interesting walk is 5km (3.1 miles) long and takes approximately 1-1.5 hours.

Devil’s Punch Bowl, Hindhead

Explore the open heathland, ancient woodland and discover the myths and legends of the Punch Bowl along the way. Choose from a gentle stroll along the old A3 with far-reaching views towards the London skyline or why not take a more challenging hike down into the valley.

Swan Barn Farm, Haslemere

A quiet retreat of woodland and pasture only 30 seconds from Haslemere High Street. The walk starts from Well Lane, off Haslemere High Street and it will take approximately 30 mins to 1 hour.

Heather Hills and Wooded Vales

A delightful moderate circular walk through the Haslemere countryside. This circular walk is 13.3 km (8.3 miles) long and takes approximately 4 hours and it follows the Greensand Way for much of the first half. This walk passes through Grayswood Village, so be sure to stop at The Wheatsheaf Inn for refreshments!

Hollycombe Steam in the Country

Hollycombe is one of Britain’s largest collections of steam offering visitors a nostalgic look at how the Victorians and Edwardians used steam as an instrument of work and play, and featuring a number of popular fairground sideshows of the period.

Frensham Ponds

Frensham Little Pond and Great Pond were originally created in the 13th century, to supply fish to the Bishop of Winchester and his court, whilst visiting Farnham Castle. Today the pond and surrounding area is a sanctuary for wildlife.
